It’s unfortunate that I don’t take the time to really photograph my own kids anymore. 9 years ago, when I first started my portrait business, I was obsessed with it. My youngest, she’s 4, never gives up an opportunity to tell me that she isn’t fairly represented in the house. And she’s right. So I should’ve taken her to the studio the other day, but instead, Stella and I stole away to the studio for a few hours on a Sunday. To photograph my daughter really opens up a creative side of me. It’s freeing. It’s creativity and collaboration at it’s finest between mother and daughter. Stella is my middle one. I think it’s easy for her to get lost between her older brother and crazy baby sister. She got to be the complete center of attention.
We’re going to print one on canvas for her room. Next, it’ll be Charlotte’s turn.
It’s been three years since I last saw Justin and Ari. Ari was just a little baby. (You can check out their first portrait session here!)
From that first portrait session, back in summer of 2013, we designed a wall gallery that was made up of 4 16×20 gallery canvas.
But since then the family has moved and we have some amazing portraits from their last portrait session that was held in the studio. Boy have these kiddos grown!!!!
After a slow summer spending lots of time with my own three rugrats, photographing this family was the jump start I needed to get back in the studio and to gear up for what is going to be a very busy fall season. I am so thrilled with the options this family has to create more fine art, that I created their own dedicated “Lookbook” section of the website. The portrait below is just a little teaser. Wanna see more?
I’m crushing hard on this family portrait. 6 beautiful kiddos. 5 boys and one tiny princess Charlotte. It’s giving me all the feels.
The Feels: it’s what photography is all about.
Just a couple highlights from this family’s lifestyle portrait session. Wanna see more? It’s a “Featured Session” on the website. See it here.
The Steve and Michelle Lawson are the husband and wife wedding photography team behind Michelle Lawson Photography, some of South Florida’s most sought after wedding photographers/videographers. You can check them out here.
I am loving the weather right now. It’s a great excuse to get out of the studio and start shooting outside again. One of my favorite spots is always the rooftop garage. Get out there at just the right point in the sunset and the colors are amazing. The rooftop of the garage allows kids to run and skateboard and play and just be themselves. I love the ever changing landscape of Downtown Hollywood, but there’s something to be said for the open expanse of space and sky.
The Chalkboard Sessions are currently underway in the studio and they are blowing my mind. More details on how you can get involved here.
Mother’s Day is a month away…Portraits are always a perfect gift.
You’re never too old to play “Ring a Round the Rosie.”
The light was perfect to take this family to one of my favorite spots for custom family portrait sessions; the rooftop of the parking garage on the corner.
Happy First Birthday Miss Leah. Leah’s first birthday portrait session was the third time she’s been to the studio this year. Mom and Dad took advantage of the studio’s “Pick 3” portrait package. Three sessions over 12 months. I met her as a newborn, again at six months, and just recently to celebrate her first birthday. The “Pick 3” is perfect for mommies to be or just anyone who wants to document an entire year. For more information on the “Pick 3” portrait package, please contact the studio.
Mark your calendar: Please join us in the studio on Monday, February 29, from 11-1 for the spring release of Matilda Jane Clothing. Matilda Jane Clothing is one of my favorite clothing lines for little girls. Also during this event you’ll be able to learn more about Beautycounter as well as DoTerra essential oils. For more information check out the event page on facebook.
Avery & Rosie, two adorable sisters, came with their mama for a play date at the studio. This was their third visit to see me, and of course it was fabulous as always.
Call, email, or come by the studio. Let’s collaborate on fantastic portrait art of your amazing family.
This family is more beautiful on the inside than they are on the outside (and they’re a pretty damn good looking family!) So much love!!
The studio is CLOSED till 2016, but that doesn’t mean we’re not available to schedule your future custom portrait session. Book your 2016 custom portrait sesssion before the end of 2015 and receive a $100 print credit. Happy Holidays to YOU!!!
These two cuties stopped by the studio a few weeks ago for their holiday portrait. Mom is owner of Pretty Please Couture, a fabulous boutique in Ft. Lauderdale. We were able to check out the latest mural in the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project by artist Logan Hicks. I’m loving the new landscape in the Downtown Hollywood area. My backdrops are always changing and the inspiration is never ending.
The studio is closed from now until January 4. We are available by appointment only. I am currently booking custom portrait sessions both in the studio and on location for January. Schedule your session for January before the end of 2015 and receive a $100 credit to be used towards your order.
