It’s time for Summer Mini Sessions! This time I’m taking it out of the studio and to my favorite little playground in Hollywood. This is a perfect opportunity to get a head start on holiday cards and gifts. Your session is 30 minutes long and includes 1 5×7 print ($45 dollar value). Appointments are limited. Contact the studio today. 954-367-6821 or courtney@courtneystudios.com.
But of course, I can’t blog without sharing this amazing portrait session. I’ve been photographing these twins since they came home from the hospital, and I’ve been lucky enough to capture them for custom portraits over the past 8 years. The family has since moved to Colorado and fortunately they made time for a visit while they were in Hollywood.
The studio is open and I am taking appointments for fall. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
It’s very humbling to receive a 2017 South Florida Parenting Magazine’s Kids Crown Award for Best Family Photographer. Thank you so much for the love and support of clients, family, and friends over the years. This September is Courtney Studio’s 10th Anniversary. I’m pretty excited about that. As I reflect on the last 10 years and look toward the next 10, and mix that with this amazing award I’ve just won, it’s kind of surreal. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with being the “best” of anything. I definitely don’t take that lightly. More than anything, I want to do the best for my community. Our community, you, that has supported me over the last 10 years, allowing me to create this dream life for myself and my family. I’ve learned over the past 10 years that owning a small business is less about creating beautiful portrait art for clients, but rather instead, more about creating a beautiful and lasting impact in my community. Using photography as a way to help and support causes close to my heart is truly the best part of my job.
Meet Miss Clara Mae, 10 day old baby girl. I’ve known her amazing mom and dad since spring of 2011 when I photographed their engagement session and then their wedding in June of 2011. I love how things come full circle and I’m now able to capture their beautiful little Clara. You can see highlights from that wedding here.
I shot the image below from the balcony of their hotel room on the morning of their wedding. It was a gorgeous day. I love that they had it made into a 16×20 gallery canvas and have it hanging in their bedroom.
More memories from their engagement session and wedding day.
It’s no secret that I love photographing twins. Meet Connor and Olivia, two weeks old. I was excited when new daddies Chris and Ryan asked me to capture this very special and fleeting time in their lives.
I definitely approach newborn portraits a bit differently. I prefer to do them in the home and I like to keep props at a minimum. I only come with a camera and like to use things that are found in the home. Integrating things that are special and meaningful to the family.
Newborn portraits are best when scheduled within the first 14 days after birth. If you’re having a baby I’d love to chat with you.
Some beautiful mamas and their adorable kiddos came through the studio on Saturday. Scroll down for a few sneak peaks.
I’m still celebrating Mother’s Day. Book your custom portrait session before May 14 and receive a complimentary $100 print credit to use towards your future order. I have a few appointments available this Saturday (hint, hint).
Meet Zach, Sam & Alex. They came to play with me one Saturday at the studio. We split the time between “inside” and exploring some great “outside” spots on the streets of Downtown Hollywood.
Mom decided on this 10×10 linen album with custom jacket to showcase and enjoy her family portraits.
I met this amazing family at Lehrman Community Day School. For the past few years, I’ve spent a lot of time at the school photographing the students and staff for marketing as well as the students’ official school portraits. It’s been great getting to know the students as I’ve watched many of them grow up.
Also, don’t forget, any custom portrait session booked between now and Mother’s Day will receive a $100 print credit to be used towards the future print order. Schedule your session today.
The studio’s most popular portrait option is the custom collage. With a choice of 9 or 16 images and starting at a size of 20×20, the custom collage is a fabulous way to have a statement of piece of portrait art without a huge wall space commitment.
The weather right now is PERFECT for a custom family portrait session. Mother’s Day is around the corner and portraits make fabulous gifts.
I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to whoever nominated me as a “KIDS CROWN NOMINEE” for Best Family Photographer in South Florida Parenting Magazine. Voting will start soon. Stay tuned for more details.
March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. What is Down Syndrome? Most people have 23 pairs of chromosomes, people with Down syndrome have a third copy of the 21st chromosome. Which is why 3/21 is recognized as World Down Syndrome Day. This past Saturday was the third annual “I EXTRA Love You” portrait exhibit. This portrait project is a labor of love between myself and dear friend, Daniela Roeder. Daniela’s younger brother, Alex has Down Syndrome. This year it was important to both Daniela and I to showcase the special relationship/bond between siblings. Daniela, being very close to her brother and an advocate for him and all individuals with Down Syndrome really wanted to show the love that is there. Myself as the photographer was always so interested in watching the dynamic between siblings when they would come into the studio for the actual “I EXTRA Love You” portrait day. The sibling always seemed to stand in the shadow of the one with Down Syndrome. So it was really exciting when Daniela and I met to discuss this year’s event and we both wanted to add a new feature and photograph the sibling groups together.
On Saturday, 55 gorgeous individual portraits were on display at Gallery 2014, as well as 19 sibling portraits, as a part of Downtown Hollywood’s Art Walk celebrating World Down Syndrome Day.
It has been an incredible fall season here. It’s been amazing to reconnect with past clients and meet so many new. I’m loving all the creative collaborations, and together we’re creating priceless pieces of artwork.
I am currently taking commissions for 2017. Your family portrait is the perfect thing to put on your resolutions list.
