Marlins vs Mets game at Sun Life Stadium. Fourth row behind third plate. Letting your kids eat their own cotton candy for dinner secures you a cameo on the jumbo tron! Thankfully I was quick enough to catch it!
It was the best and most fun I've had at a baseball game EVER!
Thanks to a wonderful client and her family, we attended last night’s Marlins vs Mets game at Sun Life Stadium. Fourth row behind third plate. Letting your kids eat their own cotton candy for dinner secures you a cameo on the jumbo tron! Thankfully I was quick enough to catch it!
It was the best and most fun I’ve had at a baseball game EVER!
I’m going to attempt the impossible……a photo of the day. Maybe it’s a sneak from a current session or something a bit more personal.
Today’s “candy” comes from a current session. This family will actually be showcased in the Hollywood Gazette as the October “Family of the Month.” You might recognize the dad. He’s a reporter on WPLG Channel 10 news.
Now I consider myself a pretty good “big sister”, but if there was an award given out to the BEST big sister ever then I think it would be given to this family. Meet Daniela, the recipient of the courtney ortiz photography BEST BIG SISTER EVER award. You only have to spend a couple of minutes with her to feel the love and dedication she has to her younger sister and brother. Daniela is really involved in the Broward Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization and is volunteering in the planning of the National Down Syndrome SocietyBuddy Walk, which is Sunday, October 24, 2010. For more information on the Buddy Walk and to check out volunteer opportunities in your community click here!
To give you my “shpeel”………”I offer two types of sessions for my clients. A “Studio Session” which is a 30-45 minute jaunt in and around Downtown Hollywood and a “Lifestyle Session” which is where I get to tell your story…”
I love being able to tell stories with my photography. A Lifestyle Session really allows us all to get to know each other and most importantly feel really comfortable. I’m really able to capture the essence of who and what your family is at that moment of your lives. It’s laid back, relaxed, and not rushed. For more information on scheduling a Lifestyle Session for your family shoot me an email courtney@courtneyortiz.com. I only offer a very limited number of Lifestyle Sessions each month. So if you’re even a bit curious and interested don’t hesitate to get in contact.
This family was in town from Switzerland. I’d like to think they travel all the way from Switzerland to be photographed, but really they come to Bal Harbour a couple of times a year. I’ve been lucky enough to capture their time down here twice. I first met mom at the Janie and Jack mini sessions I did last October at Merrick Park. We had our first session together shortly after, and she called me again when they knew they would be traveling down here again. To see some of their first session click here.
Most of the time spent in Miami is spent on the beach, so we had to stay true to the vacation. But they came up to Hollywood Beach this time to enjoy the surrey bikes, lifeguard stands, and of course…..ice cream!!
Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon! Hope to see you soon!!
Super excited about this Thursday. Courtney ortiz photography and The Haircut Hangout are hosting a Matilda Jane Clothing Trunk Show and School Supply Drive to benefit Kids in Distress. I can’t sing enough praises for Matilda Jane Clothing. Just a couple of weeks ago, a girlfriend of mine complained that she had a hard time finding appropriate back to school clothes for her 8 year old daughter. Matilda Jane Clothing is the answer. Beautiful, unique, and well made pieces that allow little girls to be just that…..little girls; in sizes 12 months to tween 12. MJC is very exclusive and only available for purchase through trunk shows. During this month of August, courtney ortiz photography and The Haircut Hangout have been collecting school supplies to benefit Kids in Distress. Come to the trunk show and bring a donation of school supplies and you’ll entered in a raffle to win prizes from courtney ortiz photography, The Haircut Hangout, Hair Industry, L-Bows Creations, and other local businesses. Mark your calendars…..The Matilda Jane Trunk Show and School Supply drive is this Thursday, August 19 from 12-6. It’s a great way for us all to get ready for school!!
We only have two weeks left here on the beach before we move to our next stop, Victoria Park in Ft. Lauderdale. We’ll be living there while our house is being built. But in the meantime I have lots of new beach pictures and sessions to share. It’s been an unbelievably busy summer both professionally and personally.
I love when friends come visit us at the beach. One of my favorite things about living here!
Lots going on at courtney ortiz photography this summer. Super excited about my new relationship with waytutucute.com. We just completed our first ever model search and photo session.
Also, courtney ortiz photography and the Haircut Hangout (become a fan on facebook) are sponsoring a “Back to School” school supply drive for the month of August. If you’re coming in for a back to school haircut or for a “studio session” please remember those less fortunate and bring in assorted school supplies to benefit the kids at Kids in Distress.
Mark your calendars for the Matilda Jane Clothing trunk show/Open House, on Thursday, August 19 from 12-6pm. Stop by for refreshments and to check out the latest fall fashions from Matilda Jane. If you aren’t familiar with Matilda Jane Clothing, please take a minute to check out their website. MJC is by far, one of the most unique and beautiful clothing lines out there for little girls. And are ONLY available through trunk shows! Perfect for back to school!!!! It’s also an opportunity to check out the latest courtney ortiz photography studio products. New holiday card designs will be featured! School supplies will be collected that day as well. Bring in a donation of school supplies and you’ll be entered in a raffle, featuring prizes from courtney ortiz photography and The Haircut Hangout.
This little girl came by to visit me at the studio the other day!!! I took the opportunity to photograph her in some other gorgeous waytutucute.com products.
Found these amazing camera-eye viewer thingies at Genius Jones. They had four different models. I bought them all. Expect to see more of them in the future.
Let’s talk about wardrobe and family photography sessions on the beach. I 100% encourage clients to NOT wear all white on the beach. Especially all white and matching! I do this for a number of reasons, although the #1 most important reason is……IT’S BORING. I tell potential clients, “If you wouldn’t dress that way to go out to dinner, then please don’t dress that way for your family portraits.” It is my goal as a photographer not to just capture your family, but to capture true and genuine experiences, interactions, and emotions. To document the true essence of who your family is at that exact moment of time. In 20 years when you are looking back through your Session Album, I want you to remember how much fun you had that day…together. A Lifestyle Session on the beach, with me, is just that; a fun afternoon at the beach with the people you love most. You won’t have those memories if you’re all wearing matching outfits, standing stiffly as a group in front of the ocean saying, “Cheese.”
This is truly photography for the modern family.
Interested in a Lifestyle Session on Hollywood Beach???? courtney@courtney.com
Now, the only reason these cuties are wearing matching dresses is because they’re twins! xxoo
This gorgeous family is the courtney ortiz photography, first monthly drawing winner!!! If you’re in the downtown Hollywood area, stop by the studio, located inside the Haircut Hangout, and enter for your chance to become our “Family of the Month”. The “Family of the Month” receives a complimentary studio session, a 16×20 enlargement, and their picture in the Hollywood Gazette. So look out for the July issue of the Gazette.
