Studio Mini Session | Ft Lauderdale Photographer

I was so lucky to have these guys come by the studio a couple of weeks ago.

I know I said it yesterday, but I love love love when whole families participate in a portrait session.

This first shot just makes me laugh.  Little “A” was just checking me out!

Just a reminder…only sessions booked before November 14 have a guarantee of delivery by Hanukkah and sessions booked before November 24 for Christmas.

Studio Mini Session | Ft. Lauderdale Photographer

I really had a great time with this family.  I had a great time because everyone was involved.  It was truly a “family” session.  It makes such a difference when everyone takes an active part, it’s fun!!  Family participation is what makes those kiddos’ smiles so genuine and real.  As parents, in ten years it’s not going to matter what we looked like in those pictures.  What’s going to matter is that you have lasting images of each other together.  Our kids WANT pictures of us!  At least they will someday!  haha

So without further ado, I’m happy to announce our November “Family of the Month.”  The Druckers!  Their picture is published in the current issue of the Hollywood Gazette.  They also receive a 16×20 enlargement (of my choosing!), after it is displayed in the window of the studio for the next month.  The Druckers are a family that really embrace being…just that… “a family.”  We had a great time together that morning.  It’s a session I’m really proud of!

(this is a long one!)

We only have a few Saturday spots in November for a Downtown Hollywood studio mini session.  We are offering one downtown Ft. Lauderdale mini session date on Sunday, November 21.  Email the studio at courtney@courtneyortiz.com.

Happy Halloween pt 2 | Lifestyle Session | Ft Lauderdale Photographer

One last Halloween post to send everyone off with on this last day of October.  Right now, in the Ortiz household, everyone is pretty much doing their own thing, which is a very good thing.  It seems like it’s the first Sunday in a long time that we’ve all been home together.  It’s nice.

I love this family, as we’ve spent a lot of time together in the past couple of months, and will continue to see each other often over the next year.   I love that I’m really getting to know this family.   It enables me to do my job better and better with each new visit.   This month I met up with them for a Fall themed Lifestyle Session.  We started and ended at Yaya’s house with a visit to Flamingo Road Nursery’s pumpkin patch in between.

Funny how things come full circle.  In my former life, I was a first grade teacher at Hollywood Hills Elementary, and this little red head’s older brother was in my class.  In fact, mom was pregnant with her and about to burst when we first met.  Fast forward 5 years, I’m no longer teaching and this beauty is no longer in her momma’s belly.   Now she’s five and about to start her young modeling career.

Growing up, I always had a thing for red heads, and it hasn’t changed.

Quick reminder.  Sunday, November 21 is the courtney ortiz photography one and only holiday mini session date.   For the first time ever to be held in downtown Ft. Lauderdale/Riverfront area starting at Esplanade Park (across the street from the Museum of Discovery and Science).  The cost is $135 for a 20-30 minute session and includes a set of 25 custom holiday cards.  Email courtney@courtneyortiz.com or call 954-558-6893 for more information.

Studio Sneak Peak | Ft Lauderdale Photographer

I posted a single sneak peak from this session a couple of weeks ago, and as I’m super behind in my blogging, I’m finally getting around to the official post.

We’re really busy here at the studio as the holidays are approaching.  I’m working on a date for some holiday mini sessions in downtown Ft. Lauderdale/Riverfront area, that will be announced in the next few days.  “Studio Sessions” in downtown Hollywood are limited and as far as scheduling in a “Lifestyle Session” between now and the first of December….inquire within.   If you’re interested in Holiday Cards click here.

Without further ado…the Weinsier family.  They are the family of the month for October.  You can see them in the current issue of the Hollywood Gazette as well as in the window of The Haircut Hangout in downtown Hollywood, which is also the location of my studio.   If you happen to be in downtown Hollywood stop by the studio and enter to be the Family of the Month.  The winning family gets a complimentary studio session, their picture in the Hollywood Gazette, and a 16×20 enlargement.   I just shot the November Family of the Month this morning.  Stay tuned!

If Dad looks familiar it’s because he’s a reporter for WPLG 10 news.   During this session the little guy was feeling majorly under the weather, although you wouldn’t be able to tell it from this family portrait.

Sisters…. | Ft. Lauderdale Portrait Studio

I always get a big kick when a mom will book a session for her, “Kids only! I don’t want to be in any of the pictures.”  So these two adorable sisters came by the studio a couple of weeks ago.

By the end of the session everyone, including mom and dad, were warmed up for the camera and I was able to get everyone to jump in for a final image,  A FAMILY portrait.  I love how some of the best family pictures are unplanned and spontaneous!  Thank you J family for allowing me to capture and document your precious and beautiful family.

This family chose to create the Signature Sweet Sixteen storyboard to display their images.  The Signature Sweet Sixteen is 16 of your favorite session images printed on gallery wrapped canvas or 3/4 inch standout mount, ready to hang. Available in either 20×20 or 30×30.

November Holiday mini sessions are filling up fast.  Email courtney@courtneyortiz.com for more information.
