These two brothers came to see me a couple of weeks ago for a Studio Session!
It was a year ago on St. Patrick’s Day that these two met! Their paths crossed in the parking lot of Shennanigans West Side in Hollywood, Florida. They’re getting in married in June! It was only natural that they would have their engagement photos taken in the place and on the anniversary of when they first met!
Congratulations Stacie and Stan!!
I just know it was those eyes and gorgeous smile that drew him to her!
For the second year in a row I had the opportunity to be a part of the Temple Beth El Character Breakfast. This year I did things a little different. I brought along a photo booth to take fun and fantastic photographs of the students and their parents. Photos were then available for purchase with 50% of the proceeds going back to the school’s PTO. I love being a part of these events. As a parent, and former teacher, I was blown away by the dedication of the parents and staff who really worked hard to put together such a wonderful event. I’m planning on putting Owen in school next year, and the preschool at Temple Beth El in Hollywood is at the top of my list!
I love first birthdays for no other reason than to photograph the smash cake.
before…
after…
I was invited to attend Miss Madelyn’s first birthday party at the Emerald Hills Country Club last Saturday. One of the coolest parts of my job is that it allows me to reconnect with old friends. I love it when old friends look me up to photograph their families. It’s an amazing honor and privilege.
I went to school with both of her parents. Her mother and I both attended Olson Middle School and all three of us graduated from South Broward High School. Her dad, Dr. Gerber, is now my dentist. We’re ALL growing up so fast. (btw, if you’re in the market for a dentist, Dr. Jeremy Gerber is the best dentist ever, and I hate the dentist!)
I love photographing newborns. LOVE IT!! I love newborn photography while still in the hospital. There is nothing quite like photographing newborns within those first few hours/days of life. There is a certain natural-ness about it. Plus, the light that comes in through those hospital room windows is divine. It’s soft and glowy, almost as if it’s there especially for new babies. New mommies are just so into their new baby, that they’re not so distracted by their own hair and makeup. The connection that I’m able to capture is so pure, so simple, so real!!! The love between a mother and baby is a wonderful thing to behold!
If you’re pregnant and thinking about newborn photography, really think about having it done while still in the hospital. It’s amazing. Those first few days with your new precious little one come and go so quickly. You’ll treasure your images forever!!
Little Natalie Jade was born two weeks ago at Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida. I had both my babies there, so I love being able to return and to relive the first few days with my babies. (who are not babies anymore!) Thinking back to my hospital stays, I know I wanted (at the time) nothing more than to come home. But thinking back, those days in the hospital with no distractions, no house to clean, no other kids to looks after…just me and my new baby, were some of the most magical days of my life.
Being a photographer, it makes birthday gifts for family members pretty easy. Parents, in laws, grandparents all receive photographs of my kids. Both of our mothers’ birthdays are just a few weeks apart. So we got everyone together for a fun family session at the park. The weather was gorgeous, the company fabulous, and yes we’re all wearing matching shirts!
Owen is getting quite good riding his bike. Slow and steady wins the race!
These next two images are my favorite of Stella thus far in her life. Her clothes are wet because she’s determined to drink out of a regular water bottle, only succeeding in spilling it all over herself. She has no shoes on, a pretzel in her mouth, and her finger nails are painted. This is my daughter! She’s fabulous!
I can’t think of a sight more beautiful than this one!
I am in love with my new studio!! I love that I’m able to offer my clients, not only fabulous images, but a completely fun experience!! An adventure, of sorts, through the streets of Downtown Hollywood. It’s photography for the modern family! I offer studio sessions at my Downtown Hollywood studio (118 S. 20th Avenue, 33020) on Saturdays from 9-2. A studio session is a 30 minute urban, outdoors, photography session in and around Downtown Hollywood. The price includes an 8×12 print, (at least) 20 images in a password protected online gallery, and in studio viewing of your images. This is perfect for families on the run, kids, seniors, engagements…. anyone wanting images that are funky, fun, and fabulous!!
Which brings me to one of last Saturday’s cuties! Lily is a girl after my own heart. She’s a show tunes girl! Annie, being one of her faves. I was in kindergarten when that movie came out, and I immediately fell in love. I hadn’t thought of that movie in ages, and meeting Miss Lily, I couldn’t believe how I remembered all the songs and all the words as I had sung them yesterday!
This has been one of the coldest winters I can remember. My dad says its the coldest winter that he’s ever known, and he’s been living in South Florida for a really long time.
Can’t you tell how miserable we’ve all been????? I’ve had to put my kids in long sleeves when we go to the park for playdates!!!
For the third year in a row, I’ve had the privilege to be a part of the Heart Gallery of Broward County. The Heart Gallery is a traveling exhibit of portraits of children in the foster care program here in Broward County. It’s mission is to bring awareness to the foster care program and to find forever families for the children pictured in the Heart Gallery. Take a few minutes to check out the Heart Gallery website here!!
