This is Alex. His mom’s about to have a baby any day now. His mom is my very good friend Angelic. We met for the first time during my first set of mini sessions. Alex was 10 months old at the time and I had to CHASE him. We started seeing each other at the park, found out we lived only blocks away and the rest is history. She’s stuck with me! Her son Alex is Owen’s best bud.
Angelic’s belly is big, beautiful, and full of life.
Some of the best memories I have growing up are getting together with my cousins. I was nine before my sister was born, so playing and spending time with my cousins Kym and Ash was something that I relished.
Sooooooo….take two sets of cousins, from opposite sides of the globe (Dubai and Wisconsin), and get them together for a few weeks at Grandma’s house in South Florida and they’ve got memories to last a lifetime.
(Warning….this post is a long one! It was so hard to choose!)
I love those first few moments when I meet a family. Each time I look at someone they nervously smile!
These two are the youngest and oldest of the four cousins.
Nora and Heath were married June 28, 2009 on the beach. Thank god there was no rain!!
Nora and her dad just minutes before the ceremony!
One of the perks of having your wedding on the beach, is that there is always something for the kids to do. This group of sisters/cousins was dancing along to the music way out on the sand. Nora just had to be part of the action. These next two shots are some of my favorites!
Which is where the “H” family and I hung out together for a few hours last week! LAST WEEK! I’m so behind on my blogging. I have so much to blog both personal and professional!
Anyway, this is “R”. Between the splash park, his bike, the beach, the sand, and ocean….this was basically my view the entire session. He was in little boy heaven with a million things to see, do and explore.
But when I did catch him, I noticed how long his eyelashes are…
But in the meantime…….he rode his bike like a BOSS!
Alright, so I should totally be working right now. I have a laundry list of “to do’s”. I was sorting out some files on my computer when I came across these photos I snapped back in FEBRUARY!! They’ve been just sitting here on my hard drive. They really make me smile. It was super cold that day (based on South FLA standards). A girlfriend of mine in the neighborhood just had a baby. So in our attempts to shed our baby weight we went for a walk. We ended up at the dino park. As the sun went down it got so cold, and her new baby was fussing so badly she had to call her hubby to pick her up! It would’ve been a long walk home! (these are for you Tara, hope you’re doing well!)
THOSE CHEEKS!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!
Isn’t he sweet!! He’s a twin. Not identical, although I can never get their names straight…..Noah? Evan? Noah? Evan?
And because there’s nothing I love more than Owen AND sunflare!! Sunflare……..it’s gorgeous and organic!
This is little baby “K”. She has the most peaches and cream skin. I usually process newborn shots in black and white due to the fact that many newborns have splotchy skin. But I just looooooooooove these portraits in color!
and because every new mommy and daddy love pictures with their baby’s eyes open…
So yesterday I had the privelege to sit shot gun and accompany Kat Braman of Kat Braman Photography to photograph Carrie and Bobby’s destination wedding on Jupiter Island. We met up early with Carrie and her best friend Christie at the PGA Resort and Spa to hang out while they had their hair and make up done. Then we jetted on over to the beach front condo on Jupiter Island where the ceremony was to take place right on the beach. It was there that Kat and I parted ways. She joined the girls up in the condo to capture all those great getting ready shots, and I hung out downstairs with the guys. So because of that, I’m dedicating this blog post to all the men who came and participated in the Carrie-Bobby wedding.
One of the cool things about being downstairs while the guys got ready, was I was there when the justice of the peace arrived. He sat down with both fathers as they signed the marriage certificate. Which got me to thinking, “who signed my marriage certificate?” I guess it was our maid of honor and best man. But I really liked the fact that both father’s were the ones to sign it. It was really symbolic in that both dad’s were giving their children away.
Now every wedding photographer always gets a bride’s bouquet shot and a bride’s shoe shot. So here’s my groom version:
Carrie and Bobby’s wedding was very intimate! Only the closest of family! It was unbelievably special and warm (and I’m not talkin’ about the hot sun here!)
Here’s the lucky Bobby as he awaits Carrie to descend the boardwalk onto the sand.
I’ve never met a more relax, laid back, and beautiful bride…..
Still hard at work on my website update! Almost finished going through all my client galleries from the past year, June 08-present. It’s been such fun to see how I’m evolving as a photographer. I’m still going through the photos from this session. This one caught my eye! I just love the eye contact I’m getting from this little one! This family’s session was so much fun. We met at a park, set up a picnic blanket, and the parents gave their daughters (twins) solid food, rice cereal, for the first time. Think about all the “firsts” your kids experience……wouldn’t it be cool to document one with a professional photo session???!!!
