Custom Linen Album is the classic way to display and enjoy your portraits. A one of a kind heirloom to be passed down from generation to generation. Albums come in three sizes; 8x8, 10x10, and 12x12 and range from 20-50 custom designed pages.
In a world of bigger is better and yesterday preferred, it's nice to just sit, relax and hold something tangible.
Inhale...exhale..turn the pages of an album, hold a photograph in your hands, and relieve that moment like it was yesterday.
The Power of the Printed Photograph.
See you soon,

The school year has started and high school seniors are sending out college applications and trying to do all the normal high school “senior stuff” that they’re supposed to. One of the most important rites of passage…the Senior Portrait. We will not let Covid interfere with the Senior Portrait portion of the program. So let’s chat about it. Let’s collaborate on Senior Portraits that capture the true essence and personality of your Senior.
From now until November 15, make a $100 donation to Calder and Caleb’s Awesome Foundation and receive a complimentary mini session at the studio. Message me for more information.
Sunday is the start of November (OMG!) and the last full month to schedule a custom portrait session. Your session must take place before December 1 to guarantee holiday delivery. Custom portrait sessions at the natural light studio in downtown Hollywood are available on limited weekends through the end of 2020.
September is Hunger Action Month. I am excited to support Mobile School Pantry in their efforts to provide nutritious, healthy grocery items to students and families at low-income schools throughout South Florida. When students have bellies full of healthy food it affords them the ability to concentrate and learn with a higher level of self-esteem.
With Public Schools still virtual, the work of Mobile School Pantry is more important than ever. There are a number of ways you can help. First, you can volunteer. Check out the Mobile School Pantry website. There are opportunities to volunteer each week, but during, September, Hunger Action Month, it’s “all hands on deck”. Second, you can donate directly. When you make a $100 donation to Mobile School Pantry during September, you will receive a complimentary Mini Session as my gift. Just show proof of donation, and your complimentary Mini Session can be scheduled anytime during the remainder of 2020.
The Exceptional Theater Company’s (ETC) Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Show was AMAZING. This year’s production of Wizard of Oz did not disappoint. ETC is a theater program for teens and adults with special needs, with locations throughout Broward County. The theater experience for the actors allows them to be the best, confident versions of themselves, and its beautiful.
I met Violette de Ayala, founder of FemCity when I first ventured into the world of networking in 2012. The connections and relationships I built through FemCity are strong today. Much of the growth of Courtney Studios is a direct result of the support of the other FemCity members. FemCity is more than your traditional “shake hands and here’s my card” business networking group. FemCity is a Members-Only Organization infused with gratitude, positivity, purpose and soul. Members connect through local gatherings, and an online community.
Sorry guys, it’s girls only.
FemCity is a great online resource to connect with other women entrepreneurs during this time of Covid19. Check it out.
Violette, her support and friendship, is one of my biggest FemCity takeaways. She’s always up for a collaboration and getting together to update her professional headshots is always a good time.
So how’s it been going over there? Things have been going surprisingly well here in the Ortiz household. The kids have complained very little about being home, and everyone’s still alive after two days of virtual school FTW!!! We’re all healthy, weather’s been beautiful, we’re stocked on the TP…I’m lucky. And grateful.
Finding the gratitude and stillness through all of this.
I made a long “to do/project” list that I’m slowly chipping away at. I have tons of beautiful client portrait sessions from this fall that I’m eager to share on the blog.
And most important I’m going to focus on photographing my kids. Working on photographing for me. I’m on a hunt for the spark that photography lit in my heart 13 years ago.
So here’s a little glimpse into what’s been going on in my family room…LEGO MADNESS. Charlotte is a builder/creator and has been working on this for three weeks (started before the quarantine). Grateful for an activity that keeps her busy for hours, in an area that can’t be seen when you walk in the front door. My glass is always half full.
Sharing just a few pictures I took of Charlotte’s build, if you’d like to see more you can view those on facebook.
Thank you for coming on this journey with me. You’ll be seeing more personal posts on the blog so keep stopping by.
I photographed Brooke and Parker for the first time 9 years ago, so of course I was thrilled to see them again. This portrait session was just for mama. Every mama deserves to have beautiful portraits of her AND her kiddos. Being both a Mom AND a photographer I’m rarely in pictures with my kids and I truly value the ones I have (which admittedly most are iphone selfies).
Excited to announce that I will be once again offering Natural Light Studio Portrait sessions on weekends. I just couldn’t stay away. Get in touch for more information.
total number of images published this summer at Camp Starlight.
570 campers,
50 days,
263.07 miles walked,
621,701 steps
I’m the first to say, “Quantity is definitely NOT quality,” but I wear that number as a badge of honor.
Each day, step and shutter click was an opportunity. An opportunity to remember another name. I cried during performances, cheered during games, and celebrated accomplishments. I gave every camper a little piece of my heart. I loved those genuine smiles. The way you smile at a friend.
“My Favorite” images of summer 2019 are now on my website HERE. After two summers at camp, my favorite images are more about the people in them rather than the photograph itself. These only skim the surface. With 107,515 images to comb through, I’m finding new gems everyday.
I promised myself I’d be in more pictures this summer. These are a few of my favorite.
As a small business owner for the last 11 years, I know the importance of maintaining a consistent brand. One of the best places to start when starting a business or even if you’ve been in business for years, is a professional, on brand portrait. First impressions are everything these days. I LOVE collaborating with entrepreneurs to create stunning professional imagery that matches your brand and will attract your ideal client.
Professional portrait/branding sessions start at $500. Let’s chat about how we can bring your brand and image to life.
Custom family portrait sessions are still available. The deadline for a guaranteed holiday delivery is Saturday 11/17. SATURDAY/WEEKDEND appointments available for November only.
Looking forward to seeing you and your family soon.
