Sometimes my favorite images from a newborn session are the ones I capture as soon as I get to the house. Dad let me in, and this is exactly how I found Ayden and his mommy.
Lots and lots of adorable costumes!
I’m really loving all this newborn goodness lately. Almost makes me want to have another one…almost! Ayden was 1 month old when I came over to “play”. I can honestly say, this was the sleepiest baby I’ve ever had the joy to work with. Plus, mom and dad are really into costumes, and had a whole bunch ready for me. Which made playing dress up fun!
Lots going on in the studio. The busiest time of the year has begun and my signature Downtown Hollywood session dates can be found here. Call or email for more information.

Those first few days with your first born are precious and all too fleeting. Meet Crosby. He was one week old when I came over to meet him and hang with his mom and dad for a bit.
I love new parents and as a mom of three, they always make me chuckle. These two didn’t disappoint. They were full of awe of their new son and full of questions for me. I felt like the sage old medicine woman imparting my almost 7 years of maternal wisdom on these fresh new recruits. (scary right?!?)
I love being able to capture these moments with new babies. It allows me as an artist and photographer to really allow my clients to tell their own story with a little help from me.
If you are expecting, just remember the best time to photograph the new baby is within the first two weeks. Don’t hesitate to even tentatively set a date with your photographer (me), to make sure you make the calendar.

I walked into the house and Crosby was perfectly swaddled and bathed in the most delicious light.
Mom is half Japanese and these paper cranes were used as decor for the reception. It’s a perfect personal touch to the nursery, specially since they didn’t find out what they were having.
I love this capture between big brother and little brother. You can truly see how happy Tyler is that he finally has a little brother. I was 9 when my sister was born. Never did I think I’d end up with 3 siblings. So I completely relate to this big bro’s elation.
We’ve been on location quite a lot recently. So you’ll see quite a few of those in the coming days/weeks.
Max turned four just a few weeks ago and he got a newborn baby sister for his birthday! What every four year old wants, right?!? Well this guy fits into his new role as a big brother like a glove. I definitely made sure to spend some time with him when I was at his house for his sister’s newborn shoot. I think he may be the only boy who could rival my son’s love of Star Wars.
On a separate note, the studio will be closed starting tomorrow until August 5. Time to go on vacation!!! All calls and emails will be returned upon my return.
Meet Lennon and Dean. Two week old twins…a boy and girl! I think my hands are full with one baby, I can’t even imagine what life might be like with TWO babies.
Meet two week old baby Dominick. I first met this gorgeous momma 22 months earlier with the birth of their little girl Gia.
I love the casual-ness of this at home newborn session. I like to keep things simple and truly capture what life is like for this family at that exact moment in time. It allows me to tell your story.
Life as it happens. Sometimes these things can’t be planned. The perfect dress carefully picked out for the session, sometimes just has to be scrapped. And that’s ok. Because that’s life, and you just have to roll with it. But what fun it all is!
Charlotte is four weeks old. Just want to share some of the images that I’ve taken of her over the past month. You won’t find any contrived newborn poses here. No knitted hats or holding her head in her hands. Just Charlotte. Just the way I want to remember her.
