Mom wanted “studio” portraits of her adorable kiddos. I dusted off the studio equipment and we had a blast. So many amazing art possibilities with these portraits.

Meet Jack and Ryan. Not to be mistaken for Jack Ryan, beloved Tom Clancy novel character. These two brothers are super adorable and we spent a morning at one of my favorite toddler parks.
If you have little ones and don’t think a downtown Hollywood session is exactly right for you, meet me on Saturday, November 16 for mini sessions at this favorite outdoor play park of mine. Call the studio at 954-558-6893 or shoot me an email for more information.

Simona’s parents drove all the way from their home in Boston to meet me in New York City. This really really really meant a lot to me. We met on Saturday afternoon at The Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District and then made our way onto the High Line. Even though its packed on the weekend we still had a great time. Stopped at the Chelsea Market for a “People’s Pop”, appreciated street art, and played in the green space. It was truly a lifestyle session that portrayed true life on a Saturday afternoon in New York City.
I’ll be back in Manhattan after the first of the year. If you live in the area and would like more information regarding commissioning me for a session please call the studio at 954-558-6893 or shoot me an email, courtney@courtneyortiz.com.

Apparently Simona didn’t have the same vision for this shot as I did.
I first met Nina in May, when her mother commissioned her portraits down here on my turf on Hollywood Beach. So of course, I was beyond thrilled to see Nina again on her turf during my trip to New York City. She is super adorable and spending time with her and her family actually made me miss my own kids.
I’ll be in the NYC area again for commissioned portraits in January. Please email courtney@courtneyortiz.com or call the studio 954-558-6893 for more information.

To say that Molly and I had fun during our Lifestyle Session would be a definite understatement. She’s full of life, and not to mention she’s beautiful.

I think it’s been three years since I last photographed little Maddie and Jordan, although they’re not that little anymore. They are now two very gorgeous young ladies. We spent an amazing afternoon in my ‘hood, downtown Hollywood.
Very limited availability for the remainder of 2013. Seems crazy to be thinking about the end of the year already, but 2014 will be here before we know it, and I’m ready!

It was just over a year ago that I first met Jonah and Zoe. Zoe was just sitting up on her own. Where does the time go?
I’m heading to New York City this weekend, and I’m really looking forward to meeting new clients and making new friends. I have only one appointment left on Saturday. Call the studio or email me for more information.

The Downtown Hollywood Mural Project (DHMP) is such an amazing addition to our already vibrant downtown area. Mural is by David Lebo.
Mural by Eddie Mendieta.
You gotta love when Dad makes a cameo.
After a very short stint in Cooper City, we sold the house we built out in the suburbs and moved back to east Hollywood…home. (If you follow my instagram feed or read sistersnotdesigners.com, you’re pretty up to date). Anyway, we’re back in the ‘wood. Which means I’m walking distance to the area that I’ve become known for and love shooting in, Downtown Hollywood. I can now walk to work. I’ve been shooting in downtown Hollywood pretty regularly since 2009, (Courtney Ortiz Photography was started in September 2007) and I’m really excited that the landscape is changing and will continue to change now that the city has taken on the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project. Hollywood is bringing in an amazing group of mural artists to add life and vibrancy to our little downtown area. When I’m photographing a subject, regardless of the location, I truly try to make the location just as important as the subject. It helps to tell the story. So I’m beyond thrilled to have new colors and textures to photograph along with your kiddos.
Downtown Hollywood mini sessions are available through December 1. For more information please feel free to call the studio or email me.

Original art below by David Lebo.
I’m actually getting in some office time today and just had to put these two images on the blog even though I’m still in the middle of editing. Nina came all the way from New York City with her Mommy, and a session with me was on her “must do” list. I can’t ask for a bigger or better compliment than that.
On a personal note, we are getting ready to move this weekend. We’ll be moving into a smaller or more “quaint” house on the “east” side of town. Which really means out of the suburbs. I’m working diligently to get all client sessions out before the end of the week. I keep a personal blog with my sisters, sistersnotdesigners if you’re interested in coming too.
