Our busiest season of the year is well underway, and it all started on Saturday morning with this gorgeous pair of sisters Alexa and Sydney (and their equally gorgeous mama). And to think this weekend was supposed to be a “washout”, so glad Mother Nature had a change of plans.
Weekend sessions are quickly filling up. Don’t hesitate to make your appointment for your custom portrait session at the studio.
Three times a charm for Dylan and Vaughn. I’ve been capturing these twins for three years. Although they are not identical, they are definitely equal in the handsome department. They came down to the studio for their yearly portrait session. We didn’t let a little rain get in our way.
The three mini session dates are quickly filling up. Only a few November dates remain. Contact the studio for more information and to schedule your session; courtney@courtneyortiz.com 954-558-6893
If there’s one thing the three older brothers can agree on, it’s that they ALL LOVE their new baby brother, Lucas. Each one of those older brothers wanted to be the one to hold, hug, and kiss little Lucas, and they weren’t too keen on sharing. Lots of love is a good thing and this house was overflowing with it.
The September newsletter was sent out yesterday. Read it here! Lots of great information and mini session specials.
It’s almost Friday and the start of a three day weekend. We survived the first weeks of school and Monday off is pretty awesome. Summer is officially over. EVERYONE is back to school the Tuesday after Labor Day right!? To commemorate the lazy days of summer I’m sharing anther “One Shoot a Week.” “One Shoot a Week” is a collaborative photography project with my good friend and amazing artist, Alissa Alfonso. It was a fun way to combine her artistic eye and love of everything vintage, with the love of our kids, and photography. This shoot took place at the beginning of the summer. It was a cover shoot for the Hollywood Gazette’s story on Food Trucks in Hollywood. A big thanks to Hippops for coming out and playing with us that morning.
Happy first birthday sweet Raquel. Raquel is not only the youngest of 4 gorgeous children, she’s the ONLY girl. Raquel has three older brothers. So there’s no denying that she holds a very special place in her mama’s heart. To capture this princess’s birthday we broke up the custom portrait session into 2 parts. The first session took place at home, and the second at the studio for the smash cake. First off, I have to give huge props to her mama, Francine. She did an amazing job designing Raquel’s nursery. Francine is owner of Give Wink, Miami’s premier baby and kid’s boutique. From furniture (with design services available on site), baby gear, gifts, and toys, Give Wink has it ALL. Just take a look at that crib. Only one word…FABULOUS.
I love that we incorporated a small family heirloom. This small red leather purse that belonged to her mama as a young girl.
I did mention her three older brothers…..HANDSOME! Something tells me Raquel is in very good hands.
Happy first birthday Oliver! Mom, fellow photographer Lora Moy, brought Oliver to the studio for his first birthday portraits and smash cake session. He is truly one of the most adorable and delicious little babies EVER!!! I love how the natural light in the studio just makes his eyes shine.
Our natural light studio is perfect for capturing your little one regardless of the occasion. Call for more information.

Oliver’s big sister, Charlotte got in for a little bit of the action. Such a beauty!
I have been shooting covers for the Hollywood Gazette for the past 4 years. My first cover was May 2010 and I was lucky enough to use my sister as my cover model. I love being a part of a monthly magazine that showcases my hometown community. And I love it even more when I can meld together personal work with professional. When it came time to shoot the August cover, I was given one direction by the Gazette’s editor in chief, Jennifer Sandomir, “Back to school”. Perfect! I had been wanting to do a “back to school” inspired shoot using my girls. Anything with a “theme” is completely out of my comfort zone. I couldn’t wait to flex my creative muscle a bit. So I called up my girl Alissa and we were able to check off a week of our “One Shoot a Week” personal project. Alissa set it up at her house, dressed our girls in both vintage and original pieces created by her (under her children’s line 5 Stitches), and we just let the girls play school.
The Hollywood Gazette is a free monthly magazine. Make sure you pick up a copy to check which adorable image made the cover.
