Sometimes all you need is ONE image to make a design statement. Meet the acrylic standout, our most popular studio offering. This family decided on one large acrylic, 30×40 in. The piece, originally designed to hang in the master bedroom, I’m proud to say, now resides in the formal living room. The first thing you see when you walk through the front door. The 3mm plexiglass over the print captures light, in a way I can’t describe. But the result is breathtaking. Colors are bright and images are sharp. All pieces come ready to hang, secured to a strong 1″ aluminum sub-frame which gives it the illusion of floating off the wall. Make an appointment to come by the studio and look at the custom portrait art options we offer, including custom framing.
Inspiration starts here! The 9-Grid is one of the studio’s most popular wall galleries. I love it for a couple of reasons.
#1. You can make a large design impact in a room, with limited space, all while showcasing 9 images! That’s pretty amazing. The squares are either 8×8 or 12×12. Total wall space required is 30×30 (including space between the portraits) for the 8×8 and 42×42 total for the 12×12 in squares
#2. The design is extremely flexible. In the future the arrangement can be broken down into smaller groupings or single portraits can be hung throughout your home.
You definitely get the biggest bang for your buck.
This display is made up of 9-12×12 3/4in mounts. The studio offers different finishing options now including custom framing. Click here for highlights of this portrait session on Hollywood Beach.
The portrait art experience with Courtney Ortiz Photography doesn’t end until your final piece(s) of art are hanging in your home. (I even provide installation services.) Marcy and I collaborated and designed this grid of portraits for her family room/kitchen. The result is 9 10×10 portraits printed on lustre paper and mounted on a 3/4 inch foam mount, carefully hung in a 3 by 3 grid. The 3/4 inch foam mount are super lightweight and come ready to hang. The look is clean, simple, and modern. I love how all 9 pieces work together to create one giant statement in the room.
There are so many portrait art options available right now. Together we can create a unique piece of portrait art that will fit perfectly with your home decor and budget. Working with me for your commissioned portraits is an experience that is unlike what you may have experienced in the past with other photographers. I am a portrait artist. My vision goes beyond what I see in the viewfinder of my camera to what the actual look and feel will be of that final tangible product that I place in your hands, as well as to how and where it is enjoyed. It’s a collaborative process as I, along with input from my client, design the final art piece that you will enjoy. After you receive your password protected online gallery, we make an appointment to meet again either in your home or at my Downtown Hollywood studio. It’s at this time that you get to touch and feel studio samples, view your portraits, sit side by side with me to design the final art piece, and lastly place your portrait order.
This family wanted to do something amazing. Mom wanted a single large statement piece that would contain multiple images, framed/mounted clean and modern. Introducing the acrylic standout mount. The print is mounted between a 3mm piece of plexiglass and a 3mm aluminum composite backing. It comes ready to hang and it appears to be floating due to a strong 1in aluminum subframe. We decided on the “Signature 16” portrait collage, sized 30×30, and mounted on the Acrylic Standout Mount. It truly is a piece of fine art.
I LOVE prints mounted on Acrylic. You really need to see them in person to truly appreciate their scope and beauty. Make an appointment or come by the studio to touch and feel for yourself.
As a portrait artist, my vision goes beyond what I see in my camera. It’s also how I feel the final piece should be viewed and enjoyed. It’s important that the final tangible piece I place in your hands is of the absolute best quality. I also understand that choosing your favorite images in a gallery of sometimes over 100 images can be a daunting task at best (Yes, 2-3 hours with me during a lifestyle session can result in that many images. It’s your story!).
When you commission me for portrait art, the process is collaborative from the moment we first speak on the phone until the artwork goes up on your walls. After your portrait session, we will make another appointment to meet again either at your home or at Gallery 2014 in downtown Hollywood. Together we go over all of your images and discuss your options. You get a chance to see and touch real samples and design your wall gallery display that best fits your home’s decor and budget.
This family knew right away that they wanted a gallery display in their “Play Zone.” The bright colors of their portraits meld perfectly with the bright colors of the toys. The family wanted to hang their portrait art in an area of the home where the pieces would get the most enjoyment. Together we chose the four images that best showcased the personality of their sons and them together as a family.
Print options range from traditional prints that can be matted and framed to non-traditional mediums like printing on wood, metal, and acrylic. The latter options do not need a frame and come ready to hang. This family wanted to really make a statement and decided on 4 16×20 gallery-wrap canvases. Owning the digital negatives was also important to this young family, and that is why I make all digital negatives available to clients who make a minimum investment in art.
Displaying large-scale portraits in your home, whether they are framed prints or gallery-wrapped canvas will take your breath away every time you walk into the room.
I offer full installation of your portrait art. (Not everyone has a handy hubby.)
As an “add-on” the family opted for the mini accordion brag book. These 3×3 custom designed brag books with magnetic closure, come in a clear plastic cover in sets of three. Perfect gift for family or for yourself.
The portrait art from Courtney Ortiz Photography will last forever. These are pieces that will be passed down through the generations for both you and your children to enjoy.
So proud to share that the images I took of my sister’s bridal shower are currently featured on the HGTV Gardens website. It was a true labor of love. Beyond the planning of the bridal shower itself, we also completed a huge backyard renovation just for the occasion. But planning and preparing with my other sister, and being able to pull this thing off, is one of my proudest moments. Images can also be seen on my personal website Sisters Not Designers.
The HGTV Gardens feature is full details from the shower. We did everything ourselves but make the cupcakes.
Thanks for taking the time to share in this joyous event with me.
I was honored when Stacy Boegem of The Happiness Agenda invited me to join her video blog to discuss “mommy life/work balance.” In Stacy’s own words, “Is there really such a thing?” My interview with Stacy is live on her blog.
I love these. I received this inspirational and motivational set of notecards from a friend, who is herself both inspiring and motivating. I’d like to frame one each of them to hang in my office. They truly are words to live by. What words do you live by?
