Cafe Bambini in Aventura, Florida. Having two kids of my own, I've been to quite a few of these indoor play spaces. Cafe Bambini is a step ahead of the rest in its attention to detail! Gorgeous, open, clean, and beautiful. Not to mention the bank of floor to ceiling windows let in the most DELICIOUS natural light. I'd love to have a natural light studio space just like this!
Also, the super adorable cute tutu outfit worn by the birthday girl is another Pickle Juice custom design!

This gorgeous family is the courtney ortiz photography, first monthly drawing winner!!! If you’re in the downtown Hollywood area, stop by the studio, located inside the Haircut Hangout, and enter for your chance to become our “Family of the Month”. The “Family of the Month” receives a complimentary studio session, a 16×20 enlargement, and their picture in the Hollywood Gazette. So look out for the July issue of the Gazette.
It was a cold day in January 2009, when I photographed Kassie for the Heart Gallery of Broward County. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, was gorgeous and warm when I was privileged to photograph her adoption.
Courtney Ortiz Photography along with the Hollywood Gazette is holding another cover contest for it’s July cover. Tuesday, June 22 (sorry for the short notice!) from 6:30-8:00 pm on Hollywood Beach at Fillmore Street. We’re looking for families that are ready to build sand castles together and swim in the sea. In other words…come beach ready! The winning family will have their picture on the July cover of the Hollywood Gazette and receive a 16×20 enlargement of the winning image.
The Hollywood Gazette is a locally owned and operated monthly magazine. Have it sent directly to your house. The subscription is FREE!!!! Click here to subscribe now!
Of course I can’t announce the second cover contest without posting images from the first! We had a wonderful morning at the Hollywood Arts Park. I sincere “thank you” to all who came out to play with us that day! It’s because the first one was such a success that we’re having it again! If you have any questions regarding tomorrow’s cover contest email courtney@courtneyortiz.com.
The winning image……
A few of my favorite images of the day! Hope to see you all out tomorrow!
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family three times now. One of the most precious and fashion forward little girls to ever come in front of my camera. The mom has totally turned me on to Pickle Juice Designs. If you live in South Florida and have a little girl or even know of a little girl, you HAVE to go and visit the Pickle Juice boutique. The designs are unbelievably adorable and completely one of a kind. Pickle Juice is only available in their boutique and new designs are revealed and available daily. Custom designs also available.
Check out little Jayden in her custom Pickle Juice ensemble. TDF!!! (…to die for…)
We’ve been living on the beach now for almost three weeks! It’s been a transition, for me more than anyone else. There are lots of little things that you don’t think about when you’re just visiting for the day as compared to when you actually call Hollywood Beach home. My favorite time of the day is early evening. Once Lenny gets home from work, after we eat dinner, we’ll walk down to the sand to play and people watch. The sun is setting behind us and there’s a great breeze coming off the ocean. I never bring towels with us and the kids always end up in the ocean. But when you live a block off the sand, it doesn’t end up being much of a problem.
If you’ve never been to Hollywood Beach, you’re really missing out on a unique, one of a kind beach experience. In fact, I challenge any other coastal city in Florida to live up to what all the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk has to offer. It’s two miles of quaint and kitschy hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts, mixed with restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is always teeming with people who are relaxing, out with family, exercising, or just enjoying all that there is to offer.
After two and a half weeks, I finally brought out my camera to one of our evening beach jaunts. I’m already planning on which images I want to enlarge to hang in our new home.
I’m offering mini sessions on Hollywood Beach all through the summer. Come and hang out with me one evening and receive family images to last a lifetime. Email courtney@courtneyortiz.com for more info.
The last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic here in the Ortiz household. We sold our first home of seven years, moved out of said home, visited family in DC for Memorial Day weekend, and have moved into our summer residence. While we look for our next home we decided on a beach vacation for the summer. We have rented a quaint little beach cottage a block off the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, and this is what we’ll call home for June, July, and August. The internet connection is really lacking, and I’m hoping that Comcast will be able to pay us a visit earlier than our scheduled appointment for next Monday. So in the interim I’m relying on the free “wireless Hollywood” signal. Which means it takes ALL night to upload client galleries rather than a couple of minutes. This in fact is my first attempt at blogging since we’ve moved and I’m curious to see how quickly (or slowly for that matter) it takes to upload photos.
But to celebrate the beach, courtney ortiz photography is offering mini sessions on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk through the summer. A mini session is a 30-45 minute session, includes an 8×12 print all for $100. I’ve been lucky enough to have a few sessions recently on Hollywood Beach and it’s really a great and fun alternative to traditional beach portraits.
The Hollywood Gazette and courtney ortiz photography are teaming up to hold the first ever Cover Contest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Hollywood Arts Park (splash park) from 9-10 am. Bring your kids out to play and splash from 9-10. I’ll be taking candid photographs of all the participating children. The child(ren) chosen for the cover will receive a 16×20 enlargement of the image used by the Hollywood Gazette. In order to participate, you must RSVP no later than Tuesday, May 18 and subscribe to the Hollywood Gazette. The subscription is FREE!! A representative from the Gazette will be on hand to take subscriptions for new readers. Come out for no other reason than it will be a wonderful morning to play and relax with friends! Drinks and snacks will be provided by courtney ortiz photography. If you have any questions or want to RSVP for the event, email me at courtney@courtneyortiz.com
