Sneak Peak | Ft. Lauderdale Photographer
This is probably session number 5 with this family over the years. They came by the studio and we played around at a couple of new locations.

I guess this should be considered “friends week” here at the studio. Two blog posts, both with some of my favorite people.
I’ve also known Amy since my fourth grade days at Oakridge Elementary, and she’s known Josh (see yesterday’s post here) since way before that!
If you get the Hollywood Gazette, you’ll recognize this family as January’s Family of the Month.
Enjoy!
I loved this engagement session. Josh is one of my oldest friends. We met in fourth grade at Oakridge Elementary. Nothing gives me more job satisfaction than photographing those that mean the most to me.
Josh is pretty lucky to have snagged Maggie. Especially considering that on their first date he took her to Jack’s Diner. (who knew they had a website?)
Congratulations guys! Much Love!
Finally getting around to blogging sessions from the Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Mini Sessions that were held back in November. November and December were crazy months here at the studio. We’re all glad to be getting back into a normal routine.
Studio News:
*Matilda Jane Trunk Show on February 2.
*The courtney ortiz photography website will be brand spanking new at the end of the month. Lots of new information as well as some price changes.
This family was one of my first clients, when courtney ortiz photography opened its doors three and half year ago.
Matilda Jane, the clothing line for girls that I love with all my heart is debuting their spring line on February 1. So it would only be appropriate to have a trunk show in the studio on February 2. So mark your calendars.

Check out this cutie who came by the studio in her Matilda Jane.
Josh and Maggie are getting married. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this upcoming March. Congratulations guys!
This is just a sneak peak. More to come!
They went on their first date at Jack’s Diner in Hollywood.

Who doesn’t love a photo booth?!? No props needed here. Teenagers’ imaginations are more than enough.
Syd’s 13. She had an amazing birthday party.
I love “teen” parties. Bat Mitzvah’s, Bar Mitzvah’s, Quinceneras, Sweet Sixteens…. You can’t beat the music or the energy. There’s really nothing quite like it.
I actually have to break this post into two parts. The first being the party, and the second being the photo booth.
First rule to a great party is great music. They definitely have Adam from DJ Classik Miami to thank for that.
oh…and btw…this is a long one!
Look at this face. You’re going to see him on the Disney Channel someday!
Christmas was amazing this year in our house. Each Christmas seems to always end with, “This is the best Christmas ever!”, but this time it truly was. 2010 trumps every Christmas for as long as I can remember. Of course I took a ton of pictures but my favorite this year are the ones I took with my Fuji Instax Mini that I got for Christmas last year. My Fuji Instax is basically a Polaroid with pictures that are about the size of a credit card. You get ten pictures on one roll of film. It tends to be a little pricey, depending on where you order it. Unfortunately my Fuji Instax sat in a drawer for most of the year, until now. I ordered 10 rolls from B&H Photo before Christmas. The funny little images they produced are priceless to me. They are one of a kind. They can’t be stored or backed up on a hard drive. I can’t make multiple copies. I have one of each to last forever.
This has been an insanely crazy December here at the studio. Which is pretty apparent considering there hasn’t been a blog post since November 30. Things have definitely settled down. Clients have received all their holiday cards and prints. On a personal note, I did not send out holiday cards this year, which really disappoints me. So for the next few days leading up to Christmas I’m dedicating the blog to all things family. Finally being able to focus on my OWN. So here are some images from Halloween. These have been sitting on my computer for months now. We actually had two days of Halloween. The Victoria Park Halloween festival on Saturday the 30th, and then trick or treating with friends on the 31.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
(*the studio will be CLOSED from December 24-January 2. Any calls and emails received during that time will be returned starting January 3.)
