This session was my last official studio session in my downtown Hollywood studio location. I have a few other sessions to post prior to this one, but after this one, I handed over my key, and called it a day. This adorable little cutie, Stevie, is about to become a big brother at the end of the summer. Mom is having a baby girl!
Today is officially the first day of summer for all kids here in South Florida! My kids got out of school last week, but the rest of the public schools’ last day was yesterday. In celebration of summer, clients that receive 15+ blog comments (on the blog, not facebook) within 7 days of their blog post being published will receive a complimentary 8×10 gift print. Show this family some love!! So starting right now, any post published in June will be in on this.
I do have two downtown Hollywood mini session dates set for October 15 and November 12. A mini session is $125 and includes a 30 minute portrait session, at least 20 images in a password protected online gallery, and in person ordering of your images. All studio specialty products will be available a la carte. Spaces are limited and these are the only mini session dates for 2011 and are available on a first come first serve basis. Email me courtney@courtneyortiz.com or call 9545586893 for more info.
I love these kids!!! Super adorable twins and their uber chic mom means a third birthday to remember. This years’ birthday was an amazing event held at “C By Me, a fresh, one of a kind store where customers of all ages come to design, decorate and personalize their own clothing and accessories, on the spot.” (as taken from their website.). The party was junk food theme and was complete with a visit from the famous South Florida food truck The Gastropod. Which mom said she picked because the vintage airstream trailer turned food truck would look “fabulous” in pictures. What more can a photographer ask for!?
I’m embarrassed to actually admit when Mason’s birthday party took place. (if you scroll down, you’ll find out!). But I’m just so excited because his little sister, Marlow, is turning ONE in July and plans for her birthday party extraordinaire are well underway, so I just had to go back and finally blog Mason’s. Nobody, and I mean nobody throws a party like his momma. (and I’ve been to a few)
That being said, we’ve been really really busy here at the studio. I have a huge back log of sessions to blog, three weddings booked for the summer, and a number of family lifestyle sessions on the books. Life is good. But as much as things continue to stay at a consistent hum here at work, I’m really looking forward to the break that summer will bring. Tomorrow is my kids’ last day of school, and knowing I don’t have to be out the door with packed lunches in hand brings a sense of relief. I actually went to the grocery store today and didn’t have to worry about filling up the cart with lunch staples. Whew! This summer is going to be about soccer camp, summer camp, free movies, free bowling (check out kidsbowlfree.com TWO FREE GAMES A DAY ALL SUMMER LONG!), sleeping in, staying up late, swimming, and hanging with our peeps.
When it comes to my business, I keep this saying close to my heart, “You have to slow down in order to speed up.” And that’s exactly what I intend to do!
I love these two little girls who stopped by the studio two weeks ago all decked out from head to toe in their Matilda Jane. Even mom was sporting a Matilda Jane skirt.
This Saturday is my last day of downtown Hollywood studio sessions till October. I’m moving out of my small studio space located inside the Haircut Hangout and will be working out of my house. It’s been an amazing year and a half there, but I truly feel it’s time to move on. I’ve been so fortunate because being there has brought so many amazing new clients/friends into my life. My family and I have just moved (almost two months ago now) into our new house that we built. And for the first time ever since starting courtney ortiz photography (four years this September) I have a dedicated home office. A whole room just for me, and I love it. I love my new house so much that I just don’t want to leave. Haha. That being said this is giving me an opportunity to get back to what my original vision was/is for my business. Giving my clients the one on one personal service through on location lifestyle sessions. Lifestyle sessions really give me an opportunity to tell a family’s story. Get to know them on a personal level that just isn’t possible in a 30 minute session. So I’m really excited about this change in my business. Armed with only my camera I can truly capture the emotions and interactions within a family. It’s what I love, and what do I best.
So this Saturday is my last day of mini sessions till the fall. There is one spot available. Email courtney@courtneyortiz.com for more info.
There are four mini session dates set up for fall.
August 13 and September 17 – traditional studio portraits.
October 15 and November 12 – Downtown Hollywood urban portraits
A mini session is $125 and includes a 30 minute portrait session, at least 20 images in a password protected online gallery, and in person ordering of your images. Baby showers are always such fun and truly happy events. But when it’s for a first baby, and a girl no less. Then that’s more of a reason to go totally over the top. This soon to be mom sure did. Her family and friends hosted an amazing luncheon at Elle’s in Miramar, Florida complete with a “candy bar”. Congratulations Jennifer! I look forward to meeting your new arrival!
I love baby parts. The soft hairy skin, wrinkles, the tiny toe nails, even the dried up umbilical cord. It’s all part of the package. This family of three (now four) welcomed their newest member, Saxxen on April 16.
