I love Sugar Sand Park! My family and I just discovered it a few weeks ago, being that it’s 30 minutes away in Boca Raton. So when gorgeous mama to be, Brie Mazin of YOUnited Media suggested Sugar Sand Park as a location for her maternity session I was beyond thrilled. Brie is getting ready to have baby girl #2 in December, and if I looked as good as her during my pregnancies, I’d give the Duggars a run for their money.
Brie, is one of my first clients to take advantage of the “Pick 3: Your Year in Portraits” offering. So you’ll be seeing lots of Brie and her growing family here on the blog over the next 12 months.
If I had to choose one place in Miami to live, the answer is simply…CORAL GABLES. So it’s such a treat to get down there for a Lifestyle Session. And an even bigger treat when one of our stops is the historic and absolutely fabulous Biltmore Hotel. (Can you say “Staycation?”) This little guy had a smile that not only radiated total joy, but was contagious. Isn’t he the cutest?
I am so proud and excited to share with you a project that I have been working on for the past few months. I believe that photography is best enjoyed when printed and everyone deserves to live with amazing pieces of portrait art. Along with the talented designers at Design Aglow, we have created our “Wall Gallery Inspiration Guide”. Our inspiration guide features our new line of custom frames in five of my studio’s most popular wall gallery arrangements and is available for FREE exclusively to newsletter subscribers. The wall galleries showcased in the guide are all comprised of standard size frames that are readily available from your favorite places to shop (Target right?!), complete with frame sizes and total gallery dimensions. I know first hand how overwhelming creating gorgeous wall displays in your home can be. Now if only the Wall Gallery Inspiration Guide could choose your images for you. Hhhhmmmmmmm
The Guide is yours, as an instant download, when you subscribe to the Courtney Ortiz Photography newsletter. The October issue goes out tomorrow, and there are tons of great specials that I promise you won’t want to miss. If you already subscribe to the newsletter, your link to the Wall Gallery Inspiration Guide will be in your inbox tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it.
I love how our Guide can be used by everyone, in any home or setting, and with any photographs. I’m passionate about photography as an art form and I want to share that passion with you.
I like to say “I take breaths away and make hearts skip a beat.” Portraits of the people you love, custom framed, and displayed in a your home, will do just that every time you enter the room.

These kiddos are so much fun. Twin boys (and you know I love me some twins) and their 18 month old little sister. They kept me on my toes the entire time and it was so worth it.
Don’t wait till the last minute to schedule your family portrait session before the holidays. The last day to schedule a session with guaranteed delivery by Christmas is November 30. The studio is closed for the holidays starting December 1.
Meet Abbi! Abbi and her dad (fabulous photographer Robert Madrid) came by the studio for a play date and smash cake session. As a professed “daddy’s girl” myself, I really appreciate how special these images of dad and his #1 daughter will always be.

Can you just see the Signature 16 collage as a 30×30 acrylic standout mount?!? To die for!!!
Meet Stacy Wallace-Albert, The Fashion Editor. She was fashion editor for Chicago Magazine, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and is now the spokesperson for the Brooks Brothers Miracle Non-Iron White Shirt. She’s a contributor for the Chicago Tribune, Lucky Magazine, and Women’s Wear Daily. To see her complete resume check out her website (soon to be updated with a fresh new look). You can just imagine how thrilled I was when she contacted me for new head shots to use for her promotional material and new website (coming soon). We spent an hour shooting “ninja style” at Bal Harbour Shops. They don’t look too kindly at professional photographers. She took me in her favorite shops and gave me a list of “must haves” for fall….
Excited to announce our newest session offering, “Pick 3”. Designed for the new family in mind, but perfect for any family wanting to document their “Year in Portraits”. Contact the studio for more information. courtney@courtneyortiz.com

Time spent with a family with a brand new baby, especially if it’s their first baby, is precious. I love how attentive both parents are, and as a mom of three I try not to impart too much of my “wisdom”. Watching new parents start this journey for the first time is always so cute and innocent, and these two “newbie” parents didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Leo was four weeks old that morning, and he was bright eyed and bushy tailed for 3/4 of our time together.
If you’re expecting and want to document this amazing and yet fleeting time in your life, please don’t hesitate to contact the studio and tentatively schedule your session based on your baby’s due date.
Our busiest season of the year is well underway, and it all started on Saturday morning with this gorgeous pair of sisters Alexa and Sydney (and their equally gorgeous mama). And to think this weekend was supposed to be a “washout”, so glad Mother Nature had a change of plans.
Weekend sessions are quickly filling up. Don’t hesitate to make your appointment for your custom portrait session at the studio.
